Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about inclusions, booking and payment, and what to expect on your Phuket yacht charter.

How do I pay the yacht security deposit?

For bareboat charters, the fixed deposit for your yacht is shown in the booking summary. It is taken as a credit card pre-authorisation at check-in, before handover; cash deposits are not accepted. After the return inspection, if there is no damage or outstanding charge, we initiate release within 24 hours; your card issuer may take about 7–14 business days to restore the available credit. Section 3.6 of the Terms and Conditions lists the amount for each yacht. No security deposit is required for skippered charters.

How much does it cost to rent a yacht in Phuket?

Charters start at 3 days. Prices depend on the yacht, dates, duration and selected services. For charters longer than 7 days, the yacht rate for each day from day 8 is reduced by 10%. Crew services and cleaning are not discounted. Choose a yacht and dates to view an estimate.

Can I book a private yacht charter in Phuket for one day?

Our minimum charter duration is 3 days. Routes can include destinations such as Phi Phi, Racha or Phang Nga Bay, depending on your yacht, dates and conditions.

How many guests can join a private yacht rental?

Capacity depends on the yacht’s cabin and berth configuration, and each yacht page lists its overnight guest limit. A skipper has a separate skipper’s cabin and does not use a guest cabin, so your group can use every guest cabin up to that limit.

How do weather and seasons affect a charter in Phuket?

Weather and sea conditions vary by season and day. Routes and water activities are planned around those conditions and any park access restrictions. Contact us to discuss an itinerary for your travel dates.

Are food and drinks included?

No. Food and drinks are paid separately. Each yacht has a basic galley kit and 2 × 18.9 L of drinking water. We can buy provisions for you before boarding: goods at cost plus a service fee of 10% of the purchase amount (minimum EUR 100), paid at check-in. Please send your shopping list at least 72 hours before departure. A chef can be added at EUR 175 per day; the chef’s fee does not include food or drinks.

How do I book a Phuket yacht rental with Cruise Asia?

Contact us with your preferred yacht, dates and group size first. After we confirm availability, continue to the booking page with the agreed details, review the total and terms, and pay through Escrow. Once payment is verified, we email your booking confirmation with a PDF attachment. For bookings more than 45 days before departure, 50% is due first and the balance is due 45 days before departure. Bookings within 45 days require full payment.

What is included in a Phuket yacht charter?

Included at no extra charge on every yacht: watermaker, Wi-Fi, snorkelling gear, two stand-up paddleboards (SUP), a kayak, fishing rods, a safety net, bed linen and towels (3 bath towels and 2 beach towels per overnight guest), basic galley kit, 2 × 18.9 L of drinking water and children’s life jackets. A BBQ set can be requested free of charge on yachts where its use is permitted; gas costs EUR 5 per canister. There is no marina fee for departure from and return to Yacht Haven Marina. Paid separately: fuel (the yacht is delivered with full tanks; refuel before return), national park fees, food and drinks, generator use at EUR 5 per hour (on shore power at the marina, air conditioning can be used; away from the marina, some yachts need the generator for it), and a skipper, chef, deckhand or hostess at EUR 175 per person per day. Extras paid on site by card carry a 3% bank fee. Private transfers must be booked at least 48 hours in advance. Additional towels cost EUR 5 each.

Do you offer overnight yacht charters in Phuket?

Yes. We offer private charters of 3 days or more with overnight accommodation. Cabin layouts, berths and guest limits are listed on each yacht page.

Which islands can I visit on a Phuket yacht charter?

Routes depend on the yacht, duration, season and conditions. Options include Phang Nga Bay, Phi Phi, Krabi and Racha, with longer charters reaching more distant islands. Sample itineraries may change for weather and local access restrictions.

What types of yachts can I charter in Phuket?

Browse the current yacht listings to compare sailing monohulls and catamarans. Each listing shows the yacht type, cabin layout, equipment and available charter options.

Is crew included in a private yacht charter?

Crew services are optional and charged at EUR 175 per person per day for a skipper, chef, deckhand or hostess. Selected services appear in the booking total and confirmation. The skipper has a separate skipper’s cabin and does not use a guest cabin, so your group can use every guest cabin up to the overnight guest limit. Sleeping arrangements for a chef, deckhand or hostess are confirmed in your quote. Bareboat charters require a sailing licence; licences issued in any country are accepted, for example ICC, RYA, ASA or a national certificate. Without a licence, a skipper is required. The charterer must be 18 or older.

What safety measures are in place on Phuket yacht charters?

Every yacht carries life jackets, including children’s life jackets, a first-aid kit and a safety net. Wear a life jacket when swimming or using water toys. Phang Nga Bay has a tidal range of about 2 metres and strong currents, so check chart depths before entering shallow water. Routes and water activities may be adjusted for conditions.
